I am Kevin from California, and I had non-traumatic back surgery at the Back Institute 15 years ago
Dr. Ditsworth performed a double percutaneous diskectomy on me 15 years ago. I went from not being able to walk, at age 31, to pain-free the next day. I'm 46 now and have been free from back pain ever since. I really appreciate all that Dr. Ditsworth has done.
I had lead a very active life; lifted weights, played racquetball and took karate lessons. The back pain kept getting progressively worse. It started effecting my everyday life. I would constantly squirm in my chair to try find a position to relieve the pain. It would hurt when I slept. Finally, the pain became so intense that I could no longer walk.
I remember thinking back then, " I'm 31 now and I cannot walk due to excruciating back pain. If it's this bad at 31, what is it going to be like when I'm 81. I need to get this taken care of now. " I opened the physician section of the yellow pages and saw a silhouette of a guy with a lightning bolt coming out of his back and thought, "That's the doctor I have to see."
I remember Dr. Ditsworth explaining the surgery. He then told me to go home and think about it and get back to him. As soon as he ended that sentence I said, "Okay, I thought about it, can you do the surgery tomorrow?"
I remember waking up from surgery. As the anesthesia wore off I remember getting out of bed and walking to the restroom in my hospital gown. I could not believe it. I was actually able to walk again right after surgery and without a trace of pain. It was truly miraculous. I have been pain-free for 15 years. I'm engaged in my active lifestyle again and a lot more careful with my back.
